COLOR Guard & WINTER GUARD

 

The Kennesaw Mountain Guard is a dynamic ensemble that adds visual flair and storytelling to musical performances through the art of flag spinning, rifle tossing, and dance. The Color Guard performs in the fall, enhancing the overall spectacle of the award-winning Kennesaw Mountain High School Marching Band. Winter Guard is a separate performance ensemble that competes on the Winter Guard International (WGI) and Southern Association for the Performance Arts (SAPA) winter circuits. 

 

The best part about the guard is you don't need experience to join. You will learn everything you need to know from our world-class coaches, and you get to be part of an amazing team of students whose core values are built upon acceptance, hard work, and teamwork!

 

Signups will open shortly for Cadet and varsity Winter Guard for the 2026 Spring Season. First Competition is KMVI at Kennesaw Mountain High School on January 17th. You can find out more about the 2026 season here

 

Cadet Winter Guard Varsity Winter Guard

Do you want to develop skills such as Team-work, Leadership and Attention to Detail? Do you want to be prepared for High School? Do you have a Sports, Cheer, Dance or Music background? If you said Yes to any of these questions, the the Due West Cadet program is for you.

 Travel, Perform and Compete across the South East. The KM Winter Guard has a legacy of success and is a 2025 finalist at SAPA Finals and WGI World Championships

COLOR GUARD


The Color Guard is a key component of the Kennesaw Mountain Marching Band. Color Guard provides grace, excitement, and vivacity to the field production at home and away football games, competitions, and parades.

 

  

 

WINTER GUARD


The Winter Guard competes in the SAPA regional and WGI national circuits, with a magical show designed specifically for these competitions. Students must attend Kennesaw Mountain High School and be in good academic standing. 

 

  

 

DUE WEST CADETS


The Cadet Winter Guard is designated for beginner color guard students. Students in the Cadet Guard will compete in the SAPA regional circuit and do a full winter guard production. The Cadet program will focus on developing beginning and intermediate movement and equipment fundamentals. Students must attend one of our feeder middle schools and be in good academic standing.
