A Commitment to Excellence and Innovation

Founded in 2000, Kennesaw Mountain High School Bands have established a reputation for artistic excellence and innovation. Kennesaw Mountain’s band program consists of three concert ensembles (Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band), an award-winning Marching Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Ensembles, Pit Orchestra, and Winter Guard. Performing at multiple concerts, festivals, and competitions each year, the band curriculum focuses on developing students’ musicianship, instrumental skills, and leadership.

2026-27 Concert Posts

We are excited to begin another year of music-making and to share an evening celebrating our students, our community, and the newly renovated Susan Gunderman Theater.

Our Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony have begun the year with energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence. Tonight’s performance reflects their hard work and growing musicianship. We are proud of their dedication and look forward to all they will accomplish this year.

We are especially honored to collaborate with the Georgia Brass Band. When conductor Michael Kobito suggested a joint performance, we were thrilled by the opportunity to share the stage with one of the region’s outstanding British-style brass bands. We are grateful to Mr. Kobito and the ensemble for sharing their artistry with our students and audience.

August 25 - Give the Band a Hand 2026 is a wrap!

A huge, huge Thank You to everyone who donated and every one who helped raise money as part of our Fall fundraiser.  We set ourselves what seemed to be an unattainable goal - our goal was to raise $40,000 and we got pretty close. We raised a total of $37,841.67

Your help means a lot to us. Knowing we have friends like you means the world to us. Thank you for keeping the music going! Huge Kudos to the 95 students and their families that helped us reach this goal. Here are our top 10 fundraisers.

We work to make each run the best ever. And, today, our finals run was the best ever. We gave it all we had. The placements are just the caramel on the sticky toffee pudding (Get it?).

Thank you to Bands of America and Cass High School Bands for a great competition day.

Congratulations to Catawba Ridge High School Band for winning Class AA and the Overall Championship and ALL the captions!! Congratulations to all 25 Bands yesterday. It was an honor sharing the field with you all!

October 25, 2025

We placed Fifth overall  at The Georgia Marching Band Collective competition in Buford, GA. We had a great day opening the event at 10:30 AM and then performing in Finals at 9:30 PM. This was our best run yet. We got more to give.

Congratulations to KMMI Runner-up Walton HS for claiming top-honors here. KMMI XXV Winner Pope HS was not too far behind at number 2. Hillgrove HS took number 4. Needless to say, Cobb County was well represented in the top 5
