Founded in 2000, Kennesaw Mountain High School Bands have established a reputation for artistic excellence and innovation. Kennesaw Mountain’s band program consists of three concert ensembles (Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band), an award-winning Marching Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Ensembles, Pit Orchestra, and Winter Guard. Performing at multiple concerts, festivals, and competitions each year, the band curriculum focuses on developing students’ musicianship, instrumental skills, and leadership.

December 17, 2025. Honor Band and Honor Jazz Band Participants

 

Drum roll please! Congratulations to these hard-working musicians for auditioning and being selected to the GMEA District XII (Cobb County) Honor Band. We can't wait to hear them perform with the Best of Cobb County.

Best Wishes to those who have made it to the 2nd round of auditions for the All-State Band. You got your work cut out. Audition is on January 10th, Get to work ;-)

 

 

Separately, Filip Davidson, Edie Sanders and Haven Weaver auditioned for and were selected to the GMEA District XII Jazz Honor Band. Congratulations!

We work to make each run the best ever. And, today, our finals run was the best ever. We gave it all we had. The placements are just the caramel on the sticky toffee pudding (Get it?).

Thank you to Bands of America and Cass High School Bands for a great competition day.

Congratulations to Catawba Ridge High School Band for winning Class AA and the Overall Championship and ALL the captions!! Congratulations to all 25 Bands yesterday. It was an honor sharing the field with you all!

October 25, 2025

We placed Fifth overall  at The Georgia Marching Band Collective competition in Buford, GA. We had a great day opening the event at 10:30 AM and then performing in Finals at 9:30 PM. This was our best run yet. We got more to give.

 

 

Congratulations to KMMI Runner-up Walton HS for claiming top-honors here. KMMI XXV Winner Pope HS was not too far behind at number 2. Hillgrove HS took number 4. Needless to say, Cobb County was well represented in the top 5

 

 

July 11th, 2025. Kennesaw Mountain Wind Symphony to perform at GMEA 2026 State In-Service Conference

The Kennesaw Mountain Wind Symphony has earned the honor of performing at the GMEA: Georgia Music Educators Association 2026 State In-Service Conference. Congratulations!

Director Mike Huebner shared the awesome news in a message to the Kennesaw Mountain band family and said "...Selection to perform at the GMEA Conference is based on demonstrated musical excellence and reflects the collective efforts of countless students, staff, and families over many years. 

This achievement belongs to every student, past and present, who has contributed to the legacy of the KM Band. It represents not only talent and dedication of our band members, but also their character and unwavering commitment to excellence. A special thank you to the Class of 2025 for their leadership in preparing the application and recordings for submission.
